Remember when personal blogging was a thing? I don’t mean those things tacked on to business sites or any of that ad-riddled click-bait junk. No, I mean blogs that existed to be, well, blogs. If you are under the age of thirty, you perhaps don’t. But let me tell you, kid - blogs were hella cool. Yet for the longest time, I thought that era was dead and gone. That personal blogs had gone the way of the dodo or the fansite. But I was wrong.

This post explores the history of personal blogging, its decline, and eventual revival. Personal blogs and websites used to be a popular means of online expression before social media platforms gained dominance. These websites enabled us to form authentic connections and communities. I've said it before, and I'll repeat it. Let's create more personal websites and blogs to revive the culture of authentic online communities.
