Written in 2015, this seems even more relevant today in 2023. The Web shouldn't die, but content that exists solely to sell ads should. The current state of the Web is problematic due to issues like surveillance capitalism, monopolies, and social media's negative impact. Show the Web in its current form die so that something better can emerge in its place? This article is another call for people to take ownership of their data and participate in building a better web.
